Verifying a list

Truelist currently accepts CSV files for verification. The CSV file can contain any data, but it must include at least a column that has the email addresses you wish to verify.

  1. Click on Verify List at the top right of the page.

  2. Upload the CSV you wish to verify. Truelist will show an estimate for the number of credits need to verify the list.

  3. Click the start button.

  4. Depending on the size of the list you are validating, it may take several minutes to finish.

  5. When completed, the resutls will show up on the list verify page, and you will also get an email.

A note on credit estimations

When verifying a list, Truelist will give an estimate for how many credits will be used during the verification process. However, this is just an estimate, and it’s a worst-case estimate at that. Please see How credits work for more information.

Factors that can affect list verifciation speed

  1. Sometimes, ISPs will Greylist if they have not heard from a particular ip address before. This is an antiquated anti-spam measure that effectively means that Truelist will need to retry the email send in a short period of time (anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes).
  2. Network congestion or a slow connection to an ISP may affect how fast a particular email can be verified.
  3. If Truelist is currently validating a lot of lists at the same time.

You can always Contact Us if you think there is an issue.

Downloading a cleaned list

When downloading a list, your list will include a new column that has the result codes for the emails that were verified.

  1. Download the CSV - This will download the full CSV with all emails in it, with a new column for the result codes.
  2. Download the cleaned CSV - Download only the email addresses that are safe to send to.
  3. Go to reports page - Show a detailed report on the verification status of all of the email addresses in this file.
